Gift cards are big business. In the UK the total market is currently valued at more than £7bn1 and shows no sign of slowing in spite of the challenging economic climate.
Up until now, companies have been restricted to mostly non-environmentally friendly materials and processes when choosing cards or been faced with higher costs and greater creative restrictions on the very few green options that were available. Well not anymore!
Green Gift Cards offer a range of eco friendly gift card formats produced on our Invercote paperboard. In our opinion, paperboard cards are the only truly viable alternative to plastic with no detrimental effect on the environment once they have reached the end of their short life. Without sacrificing quality they are also often cheaper and quicker to produce compared with the non-paperboard based alternatives.
It's almost impossible to recycle gift cards made of plastic in the UK. Our environmentally friendly gift cards remove the burden on the end user when it comes to responsibly managing the disposal of the cards. They can simply go into regular household waste streams where they can either go to landfill where they will compost over time or they can be recycled with other paper and board packaging.
Our range of card formats provide a solution for every use and are compatible with all the main processors specifications. Our Plastic Free and FSC Trust Mark Certified Green Gift Cards are available in four different formats. The Registered Designs for our unique snap format M6 and CR80 ‘Snappy’ cards mean we’re the only card producer able to produce the InComm style M6 cards with a CR80 snap and the Blackhawk Network CR80 ‘Snappy’ in cardboard with a clean edge. You won’t find any nasty perforations or edges here!
Green Gift Cards accept all the same personalisation techniques plastic cards do. They also perform in the same way - we've swipe-tested our cards more than 400 times with no negative effect on the data or the card.
You can choose from a wide range of embellishments including compostable cellulose gloss, matt and satin laminates, foils and even embossing and debossing on the card face. Our minimum order quantity 5,000 for litho printed cards but with our new unique digital capability we can offer quantities as low as 100 cards on our 660 micron Invercote coated or uncoated paperboard.
